My client, a nationwide retailer with around 250 stores throughout the UK is currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join their Financial Planning and Analysis team, providing timely financial information for all senior management.

Reporting into the FP&A Manager responsibilities will include helping managers make decisions that decide on and drive forward the strategic initiatives of the company. This includes regular management reports for budget holders, preparation of monthly management information for use at company level, as well as any other ad hoc reports and analysis that may be required. One of the key areas of analysis is that of key performance indicators, ensuring that the business is using accurate information in the best way to understand what is driving the performance. The other areas that the role will involve are financial reporting, internally, branch and operational. Business Planning and Budgeting including full participation in the annual budgeting process and Finance Systems, general maintenance of cost centre composition and consolidation system. You will also be involved in ad-hoc project work as requested by the FP&A Manager and Finance Director.

The successful Finance Analyst will be part qualified or a finalist and will have worked within a medium sized business or a PLC. Experience of working within the retail or FMCG sectors would be advantageous but not essential. You will also possess strong commercial and analytical skills and experience of using Cognos would also be desirable.
